Tocopilla will experience the excitement of baseball through the visit of professional baseball players

From April, 16th to 18th Tocopilla will restore the passion and excitement of baseball to its highest extent. Indeed, during the whole week the city will receive two Venezuelan professional baseball players with experience in the United States and Latin America. All this will be made possible thanks to the participation of SQM, the Municipality of Tocopilla and Ganamos Todos.

These two players are Abel Nieves and Alexis Núñez, who will share their experience with the Tocopillan people. The plan for these days is to visit several schools to share with the students, as well as training both the boys and girls of the baseball clubs and the adults involved in this sport practice.

“We are highly motivated in visiting Tocopilla, where we will be delighted to share our knowledge and experience about professional baseball with boys, girls and adults. We are aware that Tocopilla has a rich baseball history and we want to experiment closely with all of you this tradition and give it the attention it deserves.

Nieves and Núñez will be present at the launching event of the Escuelas Deportivas SQM 2018, which will take place in the Complejo Deportivo SQM on Monday, 16th of April from 6 pm. We are looking forward to come up to 150 participating children with their coaches from various sports: soccer, basketball and baseball as well as some nationally and internationally well-known sportsmen.

The baseball players will seize the opportunity of visiting the various schools, to invite the students to be part of the sport training which will be specifically organized for them on Friday, 20th of April, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the “Estadio Municipal Ascanio Cortés”.

In addition, Nieves and Núñez will realize from Tuesday to Friday some theoretical-practical trainings to around 30 adults in the Estadio Muncipal “Ascanio Cortés”, from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.
